How A1 Engineering collects and uses information from this website.

Effective date: October 21, 2026

1. Who we are

A1 Engineering ("we," "us," or "our") is an engineering firm in Dallas, Texas, led by Nick Burton, PE. We provide plan reviews, engineering letters, inspections, PE electrical engineering, PE seals and permit support in Texas, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit a1-engr.com or contact us through it, and how we use it.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Your name, phone number, email address and company
  • Project details: city, site address, what you need, deadlines and notes
  • Files you upload, such as plan sets or a photo of a city correction notice
  • Anything you send us by email or phone

Information collected automatically

  • IP address and general location (city or state level)
  • Browser, device type and screen size
  • Pages you visit, how you got to our site and how long you stay
  • Cookies and similar identifiers set by the tools listed in section 4

We don't ask for Social Security numbers, payment card numbers or health information through this website.

3. How we use it

  • To answer your request, give you a quote and a turnaround, and do the work you hire us for
  • To keep a record of your project
  • To understand how people use the site so we can improve it
  • To measure and improve our advertising, including showing our ads to people who visited the site
  • To comply with the law and protect against fraud and spam, including screening form submissions for spam

4. Cookies and tracking tools

  • Google Analytics measures visits and pages viewed. It uses cookies such as _ga (up to 2 years). Learn more at google.com/policies/privacy/partners, or opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Meta Pixel and Conversions API (Facebook and Instagram) tell us when someone who saw our ads visits the site or sends a request. When you submit a form, we may send Meta a scrambled (hashed) version of your phone number, email, name and city so the request can be matched to an ad. Meta's policy is at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
  • Google reCAPTCHA checks that a form is being sent by a person, not a bot. It loads when you start filling in a form and sends Google information about your browser and how you use the page. Google's privacy policy and terms apply.
  • PostHog shows us how visitors use the site, including which buttons are clicked and anonymized recordings of page sessions. Form fields are not recorded.

Our website team, ApeShot Productions, manages these tools for us.

5. Who we share it with

  • Service providers that run the website, email and analytics for us (hosting, Google, Meta, PostHog, ApeShot Productions)
  • Engineers in our network, when your project needs a structural engineer or a local inspector, and only the project details they need
  • Professional advisors such as our accountant or attorney, when needed
  • Authorities, when the law requires it

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, correct it, delete it, or give you a copy. You can also opt out of targeted advertising. Texas residents have these rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and we extend them to everyone who contacts us. We respond within 45 days.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, our site does not load the Meta Pixel or PostHog for you. Our site does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.

To make a request, email info@a1-engr.com or call (214) 382-9584.

7. How long we keep it

  • Website requests that don't become projects: up to 36 months from our last contact
  • Client project records: for the length of the project and as long as professional engineering rules and liability require afterward
  • Files you upload: with the request or project they belong to
  • Google Analytics data: 14 months

8. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, uploaded files are stored where the public can't reach them, and access to requests is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and treat client project information as confidential, in line with professional engineering ethics.

9. Children

This site is for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
